LA TRINIDAD – The Department of Education-Schools Division Office of Benguet beams with pride as two of its Principals Test takers topped the 2015 national examination required to become a full fledged School Principal I which was simultaneously administered on October 25. The results was released under Department Memorandum No. 11, s. 2016 through the National Educators Academy of the Philippines. As stipulated in said Department Memo, passers of the test must have a total raw score of at least 140 points and must meet the 68% cut-off score in the seven domains such as School Leadership (SL) 23%, Instructional Leadership (IL) 21%, Creating a Student-Centered Learning Climate (CSCLC) 14%, Human Resource Management and Professional Development (HRMPD) 15%, Parents Involvement and Community Partnership (PICP) 6%, School Management and Operations (SMO) 12% and Personal and professional Attributes and Interpersonal Effectiveness (PPAIE) 12%.

Out of the total 18,574 test takers nationwide, 2,195 examinees or 11.82% met the criteria. And 83 out of the 615 takers or 13.50% in the Cordillera Administrative Region met the criteria where Benguet got a share of 22 successful passers out of the 129 takers. Nineteen passers from the different regions obtained a score more than 180 points or 90 percentile where Sharon B. Angupa of Mankayan obtained a 92.5 percentile placing her at top 3 while Rinan C. Bruno of Itogon District I with 90.5 percentile placing him at top 11.

Other successful passers in Benguet include: Patricia G. Allatis and Estrella B. Tabdi of Buguias, Fernando C. Bagayao, Vilma E. Balaodan, Lilia B. Saguibal-Bakun, Lolita D. Jose, Santos L. Medina and Roberto A. Pablo Jr. of Bokod, Jenneth M. Bastian-Kabayan, Dante D. Romillo-Itogon I, John B. Bauzon-Itogon II, Madison B. Kiong-Benguet NHS, Elmer R. Sagubo-La Trinidad, Patricia S. Bendi-Sablan, Gerald A. Salda-Sablan NHS,Balluay, Marcial W. Danggol, Remy Dum-ao, Marilyn W. Zarate-Tuba and Glory l. Arciso, Edwin B. Marino-Tublay.

Consistent with previous issuances, the examination shall serve as mechanism for selecting competent school heads in the public education sector. Passers of this examination shall also form pool of qualifiers from which shall be drawn those who will undergo the required training for principalship and eventually be appointed to School Principal I vacant items after undergoing the selection process for promotion.– Sue CJ Dawang
